Tradition Pulp and Paper Risk Management group
Tradition Pulp and Paper is the only global derivatives brokerage firm offering both over-the-counter (OTC) and exchange-traded transaction execution and clearing services for pulp and paper. Tradition has covered the full spectrum of pulp and paper derivative products, including wood pulp (NBSK, BHKP, FLUFF) Recovered Fiber (OCC and ONP), and Kraftliner since 1997. OTC derivative product structures include financial swaps and options, as well as exchange-traded futures and options on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange (CME)*.
Tradition is an impartial agency brokerage and a confidential point of contact for its clients. It does not maintain proprietary trading positions and therefore has no conflict of interest with client transactions. As a financial intermediary, Tradition transacts for its clients with speed, impartiality and discretion.
Tradition is also an impartial source of price transparency (available online for client subscribers). Our long-established relationships with financial institutions, physical buyers and producers are an ongoing source of current prices. Our expertise in financial brokerage, and our trusted reputation in emerging markets, enables Tradition to effectively bring together buyers and sellers in a market’s early stages, as is the case for pulp and paper.
Tradition maintains an extensive database for swap prices linked to pulp, containerboard and recovered paper via subscription. Tradition also conducts one to two day training sessions for parties unfamiliar with financial derivatives and their application to pulp and paper. Please contact us for more details.
